What We Saw: Dialects (January 15 – March 28, 2010) at the International Center of Photography’s Rita K. Hillman Education Gallery (1114 Avenue of the Americas at 43rd Street, New York, NY)

After graduating from the ICP’s Documentary photography and Photojournalism program in June of 2008, we’ve been trying to establish our own vision in photography. What We Saw: Dialects is our second group exhibition together after the group exhibition at Pingyao International Photo Festival in 2008.

Here’s Minny’s report from the What We Saw: Dialects opening night on January 15th, 2010:

After several months of preparation, opening night finally arrived. We had a table with our promo cards and guest book. We had exhibition catalogue for sale.

People started coming in from 6PM until right before closing time. Opening was supposed be 6-8PM but it went on til almost 9PM when ICP school finally put blinking light to hint people that opening was over.

We had a lot of visitors. Many people pay attention to photos and actually read captions. People went through every walls and rooms. We exhibited about 70 pictures on the wall, 2 multimedia pieces, and 2 installations for the opening night. Just as we tasted little bit of the opening night fever, it was already over. 2 1/2 hour were gone by so quickly.
