Joint US and Afghan units air assaulted onto a mountain top to set up an observation point for four days. While manning the observation point, the units came under attack from insurgents. Khost Province borders the Waziristan region in Pakistan, where it is believed foreign fighters cross into Afghanistan to combat coalition forces. (Jonathan Saruk/Getty Images)
